DA Lodged with Council

We are very pleased to have lodged our DA with Kingborough Council in the past week and look forward to it going on exhibition for public comment and being assessed by Council.

“The demand for Spring Farm Village is underpinned by robust population growth, with a catchment of around 60,000 people that is projected to increase by at least another 7,000 within the next 10 years. It is certainly one of the fastest growing regions in Hobart and an emerging hotspot which is why these forward-thinking retailers have been quick to pre-commit to the centre,” said Scott Spanton, CEO of Tipalea Partners.

Leasing Update

We are excited to be able to announce that Spring Farm Village is already leasing strongly with many exciting new retailers to be announced in the coming months as leases are signed!

Spring Farm Village will be anchored by the latest generation and largest Coles Supermarket (4,250m2) in the region.

Joining Coles will be Chemist Warehouse who are opening their first superstore in the region which is expected to attract customers from near and far to it’s unique offer and warehouse prices.

Stay tuned over the coming months as we announce other lease deals including a major medical precinct, a large gym, amazing café and a number of food and restaurant tenancies.

“The early demand we have experienced from retailers for this new centre is quite humbling and is testimony to just how vital it is for the surrounding community. These retailers have been quick to see our vision and the potential for Spring Farm Village, backed by the strong population growth of the surrounding suburbs,” said Jack Hunter, Development Manager at Tipalea Partners.

Spring Farm Village - A Centre You Can Be Proud Of…

Spring Farm Village will be the most environmentally and technologically advanced neighbourhood centre South of Hobart with a full solar array, EV charging stations, weather station, free wi-fi, wireless charging stations, a dedicated smart building app, cloud-based CCTV throughout, car counters, duress intercoms and a building information dashboard.

It will serve the daily needs of the growing residential population from Huntingfield through to Margate and Snug, providing the residents with competition, choice, and convenience.

With unrivalled connectivity and accessibility, Spring Farm Village will include over 350 easily-accessible car parks, including dedicated bays for disability parking, mums & bubs and seniors. Taxis and Uber food delivery bays along with EV charging stations will also be provided.

Timing

We have lodged our DA with Council and would hope that it will be approved around May this year and would then hope to be under construction in mid-late this year. It will take a little over 12 months to build, as such we would hope to be open late next year in time for Christmas 2025.

Jobs

Spring Farm Village represents a $45m investment & vote of confidence in Kingston which will provide employment opportunities for over 1,200 people:

▪ over 650 during construction

▪ around 150 from our Tipalea team

▪ over 400 ongoing jobs once open

And this doesn’t include any of the downstream job opportunities (such as delivery, manufacturing and food supply)!

These jobs will include a large amount of traineeships & youth employment opportunities.

We will undertake a Jobs Forum closer to opening date to connect retailers & potential employees.

Tipalea Partners has been investing and creating jobs in Tasmania for over 15 years, and Spring Farm Village represents our sixth Tasmanian project.
